Chilean Flamingo Phoenicopterus chilensis
Chilean flamingos are medium-sized flamingo species. They are distinguishable by their pale pink plumage and red joints, toes, and webbing. It mainly lives in saltwater lakes around the Andes Mountains in South America and has adapted to the harsh high-altitude environment. Chilean flamingos have excellent flying abilities and search for food while moving between high-altitude lakes. Chilean flamingos are also particularly herbivorous, feeding mainly on aquatic plants and algae.
