Bear House
Polar Bear Ursus maritimus
Polar bears are the largest members of the bear family. They swim well enough to catch fish and seals, but global warming is melting their habitat, the northern polar ice, and the bears are in danger of extinction.
Its pure white fur has a transparent straw-like structure and also acts as an insulator. However, in zoos, moss grows on this transparent straw-like fur, making it appear green.
