Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Cacatua galerita

Sulphur-crested Cockatoo Cacatua galerita

Sulphur-crested cockatoos are live in Australia, Papua New Guinea and the surrounding areas. Their staple food is seeds and fruit. They can skillfully crack even small seeds using their beak and tongue and eat the insides. They make a loud, shrill cry that sounds like “Gyaa!”, but it doesn’t mean they’re angry. It’s their natural call, which allows them to communicate with companions from far away. They are characterized by the crown feathers on their heads that are used to express their emotions. When they are surprised or excited, the crest stands up.
