Humboldt Penguin Spheniscus humboldti

Penguins have the popular image of being creatures that live in cold climates, however, Humboldt penguins, like many of their relatives, are native to warm-temperature regions such as the coasts of South America. In the wild, they dig tunnels for nesting.
They skillfully swim through the sea to catch and eat small fish, crabs, shrimp, squid, etc. They dig tunnels in crevices between rocks or under cacti to build nests and raise their young. Their wings are called flippers and are harder and sturdier than those of other birds. They use these flippers skillfully to swim quickly through the sea. They weigh 4-5 kg and are about 50 cm long. The area around their beak is pink and they have a thick black line on their chest.
