African Savanna
Dwarf Mongoose Helogale parvula
It is the smallest species of mongoose. They are diurnal and live in savannas and scrublands. They eat insects, small animals such as snakes, lizards, and mice, and also fruit. They breed with the most dominant female and live in groups of 12 to 15 individuals related by blood. When they find an egg, they perform a unique behavior called "egg cracking," in which they throw it between their hind legs and smash it against a rock.
