Nile Mouth-brooder Oreochromis niloticus
Nile Mouth-brooders live in rivers which have warm water in the areas fresh water and seawater. Females raise their eggs and children in their mouths. From early summer to autumn, many small fry can be seen emerging from the parents' mouths. They prefer to eat plant matter.In our zoo, they eat hippo's teces and old keratose. It is useful for maintianing water quality.They are also farmed for food.
