Penguin Park & Sea Lion Wharf
The concept of this facility is "to learn about global ocean issues through a 'journey across the globe' to encounter marine animals. You can view a marine landscape where dynamic penguins and sea lions swim freely.
This facility creates a breeding environment that takes animal welfare into consideration, including inducing the animals' original active behavior by recreating the marine environment through the development of a nesting ground and wave-making apparatus and a large aquarium is effectively utilized to showcase the true nature of the animals swimming lively.
Staff's Recommendation
At the Humboldt Current View and California Current View,
you can see Humboldt Penguins swimming actively and California Sea Lions swimming in a circle freely and swimming gracefully through rock tunnels through the aquarium.
During Feeding & Treats time, you can watch California Sea Lions eating food and training while listening to clarifications from the zoo keeper in charge.
