POLAR BEAR COAST
POLAR BEAR COAST recreates the coastal landscape of Churchill, Canada, home to wild polar bears. Visitors can observe polar bears swimming powerfully in the pool from up close while also learning about the challenges facing polar bears and the importance of wildlife conservation through engaging exhibits.
Connected to the Penguin Park & Sea Lion Wharf, which opened in April 2023, the facility forms part of the zoo's Marine Animal Zone.
Staff's Recommendation
At POLAR BEAR COAST, visitors can enjoy panoramic views of polar bears in two outdoor habitats designed to represent different seasons, all from spacious viewing platforms.
At Penguin Park & Sea Lion Wharf, guests can watch energetic Humboldt penguins swimming actively and California sea lions gracefully gliding through the water and passing through rocky underwater tunnels.
